Representative Andy Biggs, a Republican from Arizona, recently spoke about the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into a reported $5 million bribe to then Vice President Joe Biden. Biggs stated that if the evidence is consistent and supports the allegations, Biden should be impeached for gross criminal misconduct. He also mentioned the possibility of Democrats encouraging Biden to resign, similar to what happened with President Nixon and Senator Goldwater. These remarks from Biggs came after the House Oversight Committee pressured the FBI to release subpoenaed documents and threatened to hold FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt. The committee obtained an unclassified record documenting a confidential informant’s conversations with a foreign national who claimed to have bribed Biden. Representative James Comer, the committee’s chair, highlighted the need for transparency and accountability from the FBI.
Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, after reviewing the FBI documents, emphasized the credibility of the paid FBI informant and clarified that the allegations were unrelated to Rudy Giuliani or the information he brought forward in 2020. Greene explained that the informant witnessed the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, which had hired Hunter Biden, attempting to buy a U.S. oil and gas company using Hunter’s connections. According to the informant, Burisma’s president admitted to paying $5 million to two members of the Biden family, including Joe Biden, to get a Ukrainian prosecutor fired and end an investigation into Burisma.
Greene pledged to continue investigating this matter, highlighting the potential illegality of such actions by a vice president and his family. Representative Lauren Boebert, who also reviewed the document, mentioned the $5 million payment made to Joe Biden himself and explained that Burisma used Hunter Biden’s connection to his father for protection.
