From The National File:
North Carolina Republicans, Allen Chesser and Michael LaPaglia are calling on Senators Thom Tillis and Richard Burr, as well as Representative Mark Walker, to join a growing field of Republican legislators, led by Representative Mo Brooks and Senator Josh Hawley, in challenging electoral votes from contested states.
While several North Carolina Republicans, including incoming Representative Madison Cawthorne, have announced that they will fight for President Trump, Tillis, Burr, and Walker have not, with Burr joining the likes of never-Trump Senator Ben Sasse in publicly opposing efforts to challenge the votes. Much like Burr, Tillis has appeared toothless on the issue, congratulating Joe Biden on what he calls a 2020 election victory despite mounting credible evidence of concerted election fraud and interference efforts ensnaring the DNC and team Biden.
In a letter sent to the state’s Republican delegation to Washington, Chesser and LaPaglia lay out the case for challenging “dubious electors” put forth by Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Nevada, highlighting extensive fraud, irregularities, and interference throughout the election process.
“We write this letter to voice our strong support for Rep. Brooks’ call for the investigations into the widespread election irregularities and to ask in particular Senator Tillis, Senator Burr, and Rep. Walker to voice their support for the Senate to join Rep. Brooks in his objections to the dubious electors put forth by Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Nevada,” the letter reads before laying out numerous illegalities and evidence-backed concerns surrounding the integrity of the 2020 Presidential Election.
READ THE FULL LETTER:
As Chesser and LaPaglia point out, the political establishment has not just turned a blind eye to election impropriety but, in many cases, have actively worked to block transparency efforts. All the while, the judiciary has refused to judge the evidence and cases by their merit and have instead sided with politicos to stonewall litigation efforts, despite legitimate constitutional concerns.
“Given this, it is up to the Congress to offer a venue in which a proper, thorough hearing can take place,” reads the letter’s final page.
“Accordingly, we the undersigned hereby call on the rest of North Carolina’s federal delegation, including Senators Tillis and Burr, to stand with Mo Brooks and Donald Trump as they fight to defend our republic with a full Congressional Investigation and vote on electors presented before the Joint Session on January 6th, 2021.”
